Studies in Polish Linguistics (SPL), is a periodical devoted to theoretical and Polish linguistics, published by the Institute of Polish Language of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Cracow, Poland) and by the UNESCO Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication of the Jagiellonian University (Cracow, Poland).
Editorial board’s primary incentive in bringing into being SPL has been to create a discussion forum for Polish and foreign linguists whose field of investigation encompasses also Polish language. A second incentive for SPL is to make available the achievements of a rich and intensive research in linguistics which is being done in Poland for a broader international linguistic community. The intention of the editorial board is to open SPL for presentation of research results achieved within different theoretical frameworks rather then to limit the theoretical bias of the periodical to one particular linguistic paradigm.
